In Pakistan ,the established industries need the energy.It is obtained from the following resources.
(A) Hydel electricity
      We have multipurpose projects in which electricity is obtained
by hydel power stations such as Warsaw Hydel electric plant,Mangla Hydel project,Rasul power plant,Tarbella Dam power plant etc. In Which water of the Dam is flowed in inclined pipes to strike on the turbines fixed in the power houses built below the Dam level .By the fast revolutions of the turbines electricity is generated. Such electricity meets 9.54% of our energy requirement.
(B)Thermal electricity
      By burning oil coil and natural gas the WAPDA and KESC produce Thermal Electricity .There are thermal power houses functioning at Pipri and Korangi in Karachi area and at Kotri near Hyderabad .Other Thermal power houses function at Sukkur,Guddu,Faisalabad ,Lohore ,Multan,and Rawalpindi in Punjab. A thermal power houses exists in Quetta as well.The thermal electricity meets 8.1% of the total energy requirement of the country.
(C) Natural Gas
      There are 25 gas fields in our country out of which the Sui gas field in the largest producer of natural gas. The annual production of gas  is more than 10,000 million cubic meters.There are 6 gas fields in Baluchistan ,10 felds are presen in Sindh and Punjab has 9 gas fields under operation. The domestic consumption of gas in kitchens and in lighting and local industries as fuel is increasing day by day.It is also used to produced Urea ,Gas meets 35% of the energy requirement of Pakistan.
(E)Oil
     Nearly 25%of our oil requirement for automobiles ,trucks,buses,and even aeroplanes is met by oil produced locally by oil fields existing in Potohar plateau and Badin,oil field in Sindh province.In Potohar plateau oil well exist at Dhulian Joya Mir ,Toot,Dhurnal and Dakhni etc.
