It is the duty of every citizen to save the country from all dangers and foreign attacks.Although the defence of the country is the duty of our armed forces but without the help of civilians the armed forces would find it difficult to do so.If the civilians are united and there is comp lete law and order in the country,the job of the armed forces would become very easy.Civilians have great responsibility for the defence of the country.It is the duty of every citizen to have complete confidence in the government and in one another.The people should have mutual  confidence and understanding. They should be ready for every kind of sacrifice which the country and the nation may require If every citizen performs his duty honesty and in a befitting way during the war, it will be very easy for the army to look after the defence of the country.We should take notice of the persons who try to spread,rumours,Rumours may cause fear among the people.Sometimes the enemy spreads rumours to frighten the people.We should keep an eye on such persons.

   The armed forces are mainly responsible to defend the country from any aggression.Our armed forces are divided into three branches namely Pakistan Army,Pakistan Air force and Pakistan Navy.
(Pakistan Army)
   When Pakistan was created the number of a armed forces and the quantity of war materials were quite insufficient for our requirements.But there was no shortage of brave young men to defend the country.Pakistan increased its military power gradually and at present our army is considered as one of the best in the world.To train the army there is an academy in Kakul and a staff college for training in Quetta.
    Rawalpindi is the headquarter of Pakistan Army.The Army headquarter is appointment and training of the armed forces.The highest officer of Pakistan Army is the Chief of the Army staff.His rank in the army is usually of a General.
(A)  Pakistan Air Force
      Islamabad is the headquarter of Pakistan Air force.The duty of headquarter is to look after the Air force,the recruitment of officers and airmen and their training and keep the Air force ready for action.Air force plays a vittal role in the defence of a country.It helps the Army and Navy during the war . Pakistan Air Force is famous all over the world as a superb combating force.Its training center for new pilots is in Risalpur.The highest officer of Pakistan.Air force is called the Chief of the Air Staff.His rank is that of Air Chief Marshal.Air force plays a very important role in the modern war.
(B)Pakistan Navy
       Our naval fleet is very strong,it was complete victory in the Indo -Pakistan war of 1965.It gave a crushing blow to the enemy.The headquarter of the Pakistan Navy is at Islamabad.The highest officer of Pakistan Navy is called the Chief of Naval Staff.He is usually of the rank of an Admiral.
    CO-OPERATION WITH POLICE AND OTHER GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS
  The government has established a number of departments to run the administration of the country.For example Revenue Department,Industries,Department,Taxation Department etc.Each department is looked after by a cabinet minister.These departments need our CO-OPERATION for their smooth working .It is our duty to co-operation with them.
   The Department pf police protects the citizens and gets the criminals punished through the courts of law.The highest officer of the police is known as Inspector General of Police.Traffic police looks after the traffic.The best way to co-operation with the police is to obey the law of the land and maintain law and order.We should watch the evil doers and inform the police about their activities.
(C) Civil Defence
    Wars in the past were fought between the armies in the battle foelds Now factories,bridges,school,hospitals and residential areas are also the targets of the enemy.So civilians are also involved in the war and they have a responsibility to defend the country.It is the duty of every citizen to take civil defence training to help the army and the people.For this purpose there is a department called the Civil Defence.This department gives training to volunteers both for war and peace time.
(C) Students and Stability of the country
  It is the duty of every Pakistan to love his country and always be ready to protect the security and Stability of Pakistan.Students love their country as much as others do .Its important for the students to know the objecttives for which Pakistan was created. They should fulfil their responsibility in the best way for the stability and progress of the country.The ideology of Pakistan is based on Islam.Students can play an important role removing ignorance and illiteracy.They should co-operation with the government and be ready for every kind of sacrifice in the infterest of national security.
